Progress at The Rise - March 2025

The Rise —
The Rise Construction Progress Mar2025

As we move into March, we’re pleased to share that progress at The Rise continues to advance rapidly! In our ongoing commitment to best practices and adherence to all necessary construction protocols, we recently requested the review by the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health (SCCDEH) of proposed soil to be brought on site as part of the upcoming grading phase of construction. We wanted to share that SCCDEH has approved the proposed soil as clean and appropriate to be used in conjunction with existing soil on site for the project, including residential use, which allows us to begin grading operations and brings us one step closer to the construction of future roadways, utilities, and landscapes. These approvals reflect our diligence and ongoing commitment to meeting strict environmental standards and regulatory requirements throughout construction and we hope to give you faith in the process and comfort in the neighborhood.

It certainly has been a busy few months since we kicked off construction at the end of 2024. Work has been progressing across several key areas of the project, including:

  • Horizontal Infrastructure Work. Crews are finalizing make-ready utility work and now commencing grading activities, which will pave the way for underground utilities and foundational infrastructure to serve The Rise in the coming months.
  • Utility Verification Night Work. Crews completed this work in late February along N. Wolfe Road near the I-280 ramps, helping to identify and confirm additional utility infrastructure in the project area and avoid disruptions in existing service.
  • Limited Tree Removals. Also in February, our team removed select trees along the western edge of the site to make way for new bike paths and project infrastructure. These removals were approved by the City of Cupertino and will be replaced by new, sustainable trees and plantings.
  • Perimeter Wall Upgrades. Over the past few months, our team also completed maintenance and reinforcement efforts along the western boundary to ensure the long-term stability of the entire stretch of the Perimeter Road wall standing between our property and the Portal neighborhood.

As we look ahead, there’s plenty to be excited about. We greatly appreciate the positive feedback and support from neighbors regarding our ongoing construction notifications via mail and email. Keeping the community informed is our priority, and we understand that some may be receiving multiple updates during this busy period, whether in your inbox, in your mailbox, or even after a knock at your door—thank you for your patience.
