Notice of Nighttime Work – Feb 2025

The Rise — February 4, 2025

We wanted to share an important update regarding upcoming nighttime construction planned along N. Wolfe Road, starting Sunday, February 23. This work is part of The Rise project’s ongoing activities, and is expected to last for five days. We have also sent a notice to all homes and businesses within the vicinity of the work area, per city of Cupertino code requirements (we apologize if you have received multiple notices from us!)

In accordance with Caltrans regulations, this potholing work will take place during nighttime hours from February 23 through February 27. The purpose of this work is to identify the exact locations of existing underground utilities so there are no disruptions to local service during upcoming construction. This work occurs at night to avoid traffic disruptions, and will be in addition to ongoing daytime construction of essential horizontal site improvements already underway at The Rise, including demolition, grading, future utility installations, and interior roadway construction.

Details of Nighttime Work:

  • Dates: February 23 through February 27, 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
  • Location: N. Wolfe Road, south of the I-280 off-ramp
  • Impacts: Temporary lane and shoulder closures; pedestrian and bike access will remain open.

Minimizing Disruptions:
Crews will use sound-dampening equipment wherever possible to reduce noise, and traffic control measures will be implemented to manage the temporary lane closure. If there are updates, we commit to keeping you informed and will do our best to ensure this work is completed with as little disruption as possible.

While we have your attention, just a quick update about construction activities taking place this week. Over the next few days neighbors may notice tree removals taking place on the western side of the property. The trees slated for removal are private Shamel Ash trees located near the former mall garage and the existing property-line wall. While these trees are not immediately on the property line, crews will be working nearby and neighbors may notice activity close to the wall along with some daytime noise. These removals are permitted work and will make way not only for new sustainable trees and landscape but new bike trail infrastructure that will eventually serve to connect cyclists from Stevens Creek Boulevard to the future Tamien Trail along I-280.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we progress with this important phase of construction.
