The Rise — October 15, 2024
Dear Neighbors,
We are excited to update you on the next important phase of construction at The Rise. Having completed the final stage of make-ready utility work at the former Vallco site, we are now awaiting the issuance of the remaining permits to move forward. This next phase is scheduled to begin later this month.
This new phase will construct major sitework necessary for the future construction of retail and residential buildings on the west side of the property, north of Stevens Creek Boulevard and west of Wolfe Road. In particular, the work will involve:
Our scheduled construction hours will be 7AM-8PM on weekdays. While we do not anticipate regular weekend activity, there may occasionally be limited work hours on weekends as required. This schedule will allow our crews to complete this phase of construction as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Throughout all phases of this project, our guiding vision for The Rise remains the same: to create a fully connected city center where community, culture, and nature come together. The Rise will be a new social heart for Cupertino—a vibrant, walkable city center with a thriving downtown retail corridor, flexible commercial spaces, and a range of housing options that foster connection and well-being.
Our Good Neighbor Commitment:
We acknowledge that construction activity may have an impact on our neighbors, and we take seriously our responsibility to minimize disruption and manage any impacts wherever possible. As always, our construction management plan will ensure that all site work complies with best practices and adheres to our Good Neighbor Program.
Our commitment to you:
What you can expect:
While we strive to provide advance notice and minimize disruption, there may be circumstances that require us to take immediate actions to ensure the safety of construction personnel and the public. We’ll do our best to communicate any such changes as they arise, and we will keep you posted as work progresses.
We appreciate your ongoing patience and support as we move forward with this exciting new chapter. Together, we are building a downtown for our community that will be a true reflection of Cupertino’s vibrant spirit.
Sincerely,
Reed Moulds
